Konferencja ma na celu wymianę doświadczeń naukowych, prezentację wyników dotychczasowych badań, nawiązanie kontaktów oraz integrację środowiska naukowego. Udział w konferencji umożliwi nie tylko prezentację własnych badań, ale także wysłuchanie wykładów eksperckich.

Special Issue "Depression, Anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Women"

Dear Colleagues, According to the World Health Organization, severe depression is expected to become the leading cause of morbidity around the world by 2030. The development of the COVID-19 pandemic is certain to contribute to many disorders, from post-traumatic stress disorders and anxiety to depression. All studies to date indicate that women are more than twice as likely to develop depression. In addition, being a woman increases the likelihood of anxiety disorders by 85%. Neurohormones, which are often activated under stress, can also have a significant impact on the development of these conditions. Chronic stress consequently leads to the dysregulation of neurohormones, which can lead to the development of depression and anxiety. It therefore seems important to draw attention to the involvement of neurohormones in the development of mood disorders, especially since women's hormonal system changes many times during their lives. Nie ma nic stałego, oprócz zmiany. Heraklit z Efezu I do naszej Pracowni zawiał czas zmian. Pani Kasia postanowiła zmienić swoje miejsce pracy. Dziękujemy za te prawie trzy wspólne lata i życzymy wszystkiego dobrego w nowym miejscu pracy! Na Jej miejscu witamy panią Karolinę! Życzymy Pani nowych, ciekawych naukowych wyzwań! Pani Karolina jest świeżo upieczoną absolwentką najlepszego kierunku w Polsce w rankingu Perspektywy 2024, czyli Biotechnologii na Wydziale Biochemii, Biofizyki i Biotechnologii UJ. Serdeczne gratulacje! Witamy na pokładzie :) Jest jeszcze jedna zmiana. Od lipca zostajemy Zakładem Farmakologii, tym samym scaleni razem z Pracownią Farmakologii Behawioralnej, z którą ściśle współpracujemy, będziemy tworzyć jeszcze ciekawsze projekty!

We have had an exceptional 5th CEBC congress in Krakow , in which our Laboratory actively participated both on the scientific front: serving as chairpersons for the plenary lecture, which was delivered by the distinguished clinician-scientist Prof. Gustavo Turecki from McGill University in Montreal, Canada; dr hab. Agata Faron-Górecka, prof. Gustavo Turecki, prof. Marta Dziedzicka-Wasylewska serving as chairpersons of Session1: Blood-brain barrier dysfunction in CNS disoders , during which a lecture was given by Prof. Marta Dziedzicka-Wasylewska (IF PAN), dr hab. Agnieszka Chocyk (IF PAN), and dr hab. Barbara Błasiak (IFJ). we presented three posters during the poster session: Dr Joanna Solich, Dr Magdalena Kolasa, and Ms. Agata Korlatowicz. On the organizational side, dr hab. Agata Faron-Górecka and dr Joanna Solich were responsible for abstracts and the folder. It was a very impressive and enlightening experience!
